Our Peer Support service based in Henderson represents the leading edge in the development of social support and connection for people working with people to enhance their existing support networks and develop new ones. The service has a recovery and strengths-based philosophy and seeks to work with people to support them achieve their goals through one to one support and group facilitation.

Skills & Experience

We are seeking to recruit a full time Peer Support Worker working Monday to Friday.  We would welcome applications from people who have: 

  • Their own personal experience of utilising mental health services  
  • A NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 (Mental Health and Addictions) or similar relevant health related qualification or a commitment to achieve a qualification  
  • A positive and professional attitude  
  • Good computer and record keeping skills  
  • Familiarity with the West Auckland community  
  • Excellent communication, relationship and advocacy skills  
  • Creativity, enthusiasm and persistence  
  • A mature, empathetic personality and a sense of humour  
  • A full, clean NZ driver's licence
